Customer notification and shipment tracking automation for a Berlin logistics company
Managing 300+ active shipments, the company's support line took 120+ "where is my shipment?" calls a day. Each one took four to five minutes and the support team could no longer keep up. Delays went unannounced, and customer satisfaction slid steadily downward.
We connected the DHL and DPD carrier APIs to n8n. Every status change — dispatched, at the distribution centre, out for delivery — triggers an automatic SMS and email to the customer. When a likely delay is detected, an apology and a revised estimated date go out before the delivery window is missed.
"Where is my shipment?" calls fell 67%. The customer satisfaction score rose from 6.2 to 8.9 out of 10. The support team now handles real problems, and the company saves €3,200 a month in operational cost.
Our customers can follow every step of the delivery now. When there's a delay, the system has already told them before they think to call us. Complaint calls have fallen through the floor.
This is a representative scenario prepared to show how our services are applied inside a business. It is not a specific customer case.
